TODAY'S SONG: HEY LLOYD I'M READY TO BE HEARTBROKEN BY CAMERA OBSCURA

Long Title, I know. But may I say that it is quite impossible not to agree with the Glaswegian Indie pop band Camera Obscura and their vision of love.

"Hey Lloyd, I'm ready to be heartbroken, cause I can't see further than my own nose at this moment"

First sentence of the chorus and yet describing the entire song. In other words being selfish might be the reason why we all loose each other sometimes, why we might end up by ourselves.

Be prepared, Be ready to be heartbroken.

Except that instead of using the saddest melody ever or playing dark guitar riffs to express their feelings, the band decides to sing a heartbroken song on a happy note. Much better decision.

What I mean is that even if I realise everyday that  I'm not the only one who loves listening to depressing song to feel even more depressed, why not singing something true and sad in a lively way using funny lyrics. I am personally a bit sick of love songs that actually make you want to cry. This one makes me laugh, especially the video.

Plus, there is an awkwardness in this tune that can only make you like it more. It's special and that is what makes it good.

The band as lead the Scottish Pop scene for almost 15 years now. They're sweet, they're shy and look depressed: Totally Lovable.

Hopefully you'll enjoy the TrUe OuTsIdErS of Camera Obscura just like I do.

JARVIS COCKER IS JESUS CHRIST!

Don't really know what's been going on with me lately but I keep listening to Pulp. Not that I don't love the band but it's as if their tune "Babies" had became my sort of anthem.

They've always been major figures of the 1990s Brit Pop movement with their cool "kitchen sink drama" lyrics. Listening to Pulp is like discovering what's behind any British young men's mind. It'd be weird not to be intererested in this sort of information knowing I have been a French girl living in the beautiful Liverpool for almost 3 years now.

So yes, I'm a Pulp lover like most of the United Kingdom anyway. I'm walking in the streets of Paris and I'm singing along Jarvis Cocker's voice driping with sexiness, I'm loving it. Well, at least I'm trying.

"I am not Jesus but I have the same initials" he said once.  oooo J.C, my Messiah.

TODAY'S SONG: FIREMEN DON'T FLY BY OUTFIT

They're new, they're from Liverpool and do not sound like the Beatles which his rare for a Merseyside band.

OUTFIT has joined the "I'm influenced by Manchester music history" club and left Paul and John for the fans.

If you feel like Ian Curtis' deep voice and lyrics were too depressing, you'll enjoy the five piece band who sounds more like a happy version of Joy Division. A sort of New Order revival with a bit of a futurist sound even if the lead singer's voice keep it kind of dark.

"Firemen don't fly" is like an addition of unexpected riffs. As if OUTFIT themselves didn't even gathered their ideas to make it their own song. As if each of the members put their thoughts out there without thinking  it would actually be such a great tune. They are definitely Liverpool's most exciting new band.

The music video is a little bit strange though.

But isn't it what being a TrUe oUtSiDeR is about ? The interesting and blissful weirdness.

BEST COAST'S NEW MUSIC VIDEO:"OUR DEAL"

The music video has only been released last tuesday and is directed by Drew Barrymore.

I have to say that this song is my favourite of Best Coast.  It's a romantic garage rock, Lo-fi tune, typical to the Surf Pop Band.

Featuring famous teenage actors such as Chloe Grace Moretz, Miranda Crosgrove and Tyler Posey, the video is a four minute cute love story, a sort of modern Romeo and Juliet.

May I say that you have no heart if you don't like it?! You're allowed to think it's a bit of a cliche because to be honest it is, but the lyrics totally match with the video and there is a good twist at the end.

They have been written by the lead singer Bethany Consentino and she did a great job. So did Drew on directing the video.

To me, Best Coast have been TrUe OuTsIdErS since the amazing "Boyfriend" that we've all loved. You can almost hear the sound of the waves with this band and "Our Deal" is certainly one of their best song.

THE ONE AND ONLY, THE STROKES

Because stereogum.com made their own tribute to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of their first album "IS THIS IT", I"m making my own and decide to post my favourite song from their new album "MACHU PICCHU". THE STROKES will always be the best garage rock/post punk band.

SONG OF THE DAY: ME AND THE MOON BY THE DRUMS

Thought A-Ha was making a come back when I heard the first ten seconds of "Me and the Moon". But it was just the Brooklyn guys from THE DRUMS and the usual 80's beat they put behind their easy indie guitar riffs.

It's easy but it works and still give an interesting beach pop tune thanks to Jonathan Pierce's voice. Perhaps less escapist than the mythic "Let's go surfing" and definitely less whistling.

There's also a big SMITHS' influence all along the song and if you still love listening to "William it was really nothing" , you'll surely enjoy "Me and the Moon" .

Check it out!
