SWEET, ANOTHER BEACH SONG !

Psychedelic surf band REAL ESTATE is about to release their second album.

The four guys from New Jersey are making us wait till september to hear their new songs.

Patience is far from being my thing so I've spent the morning doing some research, trying to find at least one song from their new album I could listen to because I just can't wait two months.

Here it is, its first single "It's Real". I'm listening to it, and once againg the melodic pop makers had succeeded in creating another beach song I would enjoy singing along to while wearing my bikini.

"It's Real" is a fresh and sweet introduction. If the new album follows, it will be a blissful autumn.

They just got in the TRuE OuTsIdErS list.

Check them out !

TALIHINA SKY: MOVIE TRAILER

The story of KINGS OF LEON is deeper than what it seems. Here is the trailer of Talihina Sky: dealing with their excitement of having a record deal, their fear of god but most of all how the four guys from Nashville became one of the biggest American band loved worldwide. Definitely need to see the movie!

CANSEI DE SER SEXY !

I have been dancing on CSS or Cansei de ser sexy, "tired of being sexy" in portuguese, for years and I'm still not fed up with it.

The Brazilian band from Sao Paulo is definitely part of the new New Indie/Electro wave going on.

But I'm warning you, if you start listening to their exciting tunes, you won't be able to stop.

Their songs, both in English and Portuguese, are most of the time so trashy and laughably bad, that they become catchy and almost impossible not to love.

With their dancy and rythmic beats, you'll start singing along to the naughty lyrics, and you might even try singing in portuguese. That's what happened to me anyway, total failure!

This morning, their song "Let's make love and listen death from above" has been my morning pill.

Enjoy these TrUe OuTsIdErS and most important dance!

MESITA, MY MORNING PILL!

I don't really like mornings. It's not my thing. I also realised it wasn't most of the people's thing.

Doctors should create some sort of pill that you could take every morning when you wake up to give you the strengh to carry on all day long.

Vitamins are out of the question simply because they never work unless you have like three in a row.

Redbull does'nt make it for me either as it just gets me even more talkative than I am already. Plus I need something like 4 cans to actualy feel the effect of it, and when you have 4 cans of Redbull in a row, you're too excited, jump everywhere and probably not far from having a stroke so I'm definitely trying to avoid that one.

After a quick analysis of the question, I realised that the very first thing I do when I wake up, after reading NME online, is turn my Ipod on and listen to a song that I know will make me smile all day!

This morning, Living, Breathing by MESITA was my "morning pill" !

Enjoy the power of these TrUe OuTsIdErS.

AMY OR THE CURSE OF 27

Some people would say that it was about to happen, others still had faith and beleived that talent could overcome anything, that such people never dies and live forever because they just have to. Two days ago, Amy Winehouse passed away leaving behind millions of fans mourning the loss of an incredible soul singer.

She could have been what everyone was expecting her to be: A glamourous icon, the sweetest girl ever and having a normal hairstyle and not that many tatoos. But she wasn't all this, Amy loved drugs, had a crazy style and was deeply mad about her ex boyfriend. Can you really blame her for this? Not saying everything she did was right but people need to be able to seperate her musical talent and her dangerous addiction. Of course it doesn't go together, but I can't even count how many people said to me that day that she deserved it.

Amy was talented, she had been struggling for years and finally had succeeded in showing her work to the entire world. She was a great lyricist with interesting songs. She'll stay alive thanks to her music.

After looking for some articles trying to find out about the way she died, I couldn't find anything. It doesn't take the most supersticious person to realize that like so many talented musicians, Amy Winehouse died at the age of 27. If you don't know about it, here is the story: The 27 club also known as the Forevere 27 Club is the name we used for the group of influential and talented artists that mysteriously all died at the age of 27.

The curse includes artists such as:

Brian Jones and Jimi Hendrix

Janis Joplin:

Jim Morrison:

Kurt Kobain :

..... And now Amy. The real question would probably be, were all these musicians absolute drugies that just died because there was too much drugs in their system or like the curse says, had just showed everything they had to show to the world by the age of 27 and passed away.

Let's just say they're TrUe OuTsIdErS no matter what the answer is.

Now enjoy !

ThE OThEr SidE Of LiL WaYnE

Whether we are rap addicts or not, we've all heard about LiL Wayne and its amazing songs. If the man is well known for having his entire body covered in tatoos, he is also know for being one of the most talented rappers. Able to create a rock album as well as making us dance on great rap tunes, Lil Wayne born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr makes his famous claim of being "the best rapper alive" worth considering.

As much as I've always loved Lil Wayne and admired his complete unusual style I always wondered if the guy was not crazy for getting that many tatoos. But behind this kind of scary look it seems like there is a romantic side that he struggles to show. I mean, let's be honest here, with songs like "Lollipop" or "A Millie", it's hard to beleive that Lil Wayne could be anything else than another rapper singing how "girls with big bums are hot".

Discovering his song "How to Love" made me realised that our beloved rapper Lil Wayne was also a great love songwriter who could create melodic love tunes with deep lyrics. See for yourself, the song is amazing.

Such a TrUe OuTsIdEr....

DO YOU REALIZE?

Everyday, at a moment or another, I check the news trying to find out what's happening in this scary world we are living in. We probably all do it, but we've all got different point of views and opinions depending on the subject. The fact is that I haven't felt happy or satisfied after reading the news in a very long time.

All it does is making me realize how most of us are unfortunately pretty messed up. Not like I didn't know that already but any chance there could be a little bit of peace going on. Actually sick of hearing about Rupert Murdoch, DSK and his sexual issues or the United Nations claiming that there is famine in Somalia as if we didn't know that already.

I am not a hippie, even if I tend to dress like one sometimes, and I am not trying to spread a peace and love message. It would be ridiculous as I'm a nobody. But I am sick of the climate of tension that has been going on for the past decade.

This is not a rebellion message and I am not a guru wannabe but just a journalist that feels like there is a song for every moment of our life. There is a song for love, there is a song for hate, there is a song for sadness and there is a song for happiness. What I mean is that music is probably the only thing that could bring everyone together. Lyrics are strong and have the power to make people understand things.

Listening to "Do you realize" by the Flaming Lips is probably one of the best way to let that anger go.

Perhaps it only works for TrUe OuTsIdErS, see for yourself.

JACKSON 5+PASSION PIT= JACKSON PIT

A remix is an alternative version of a recorded song made from an original version. It can also be two songs, from two different genres mixed together in order to create a complete new one . If the result can give something amazing, it can also be a total failure. So what type of songs are we allowed to mix together?

(CHIDDY on the left, XAPHOON JONES on the right)

Noah Berisin also known as XAPHOON JONES created the band CHIDDY BANG with his friend Chidera Anamege, or CHIDDY. The alternative hip hop duo from Philadelphia based their sound from the fusion of samples of different artists that aren't meant to go together.

After Radiohead and Kanye West, MGMT and Bob Marley, Xaphoon Jones decided to mix the great electro tune "Sleepyhead" by PASSION PIT and the famous "I want you back" by The Jackson 5.

The first time I heard the mixtape, I didn't know what to think. The two songs are completely different and I would never thought about putting them together.

Was Xaphoon Jones a genius? Or was he just mad for making such a mistake? The fact is that even if it should be forbidden to create such a remix, the result is catchy and will make you want to dance.

It seems like the ambition of the guy tends to make him look more like a genius than a fool.
A TrUe OuTSiDeR.

Where the f*** is CHESTER FRENCH ?

That might sound like a cheese name but CHESTER FRENCH is a band and a good one. Unfortunately, the duo involving D.A Wallach and Max Drummey has disappeared and I miss them, deeply. Someone tells me where they are and what they're doing because I need another album from them.

If you don't know who they are, here is a bit of story for you. The two guys from Boston have managed to create a set of power pop tunes mixed with electro and inspired by motown. It's a different kind of pop, not the one you hear everyday and you're sick of because you actually hear it all the time which makes you start singing it. Worst, you're implicitly brainwashed into liking it. No, CHESTER FRENCH is the pop that makes you feel like there is still hope. (that might have been a complicated explication)

“What we tried to do is make something musically diverse but also unified. And we did the best job of that ever in the history of music.” Drummey says.

Cocky? A little bit. But when you know that Kanye West and Jermaine Dupri both fought for ages to sign them, you think twice.

They finally chose to go with Pharrell Williams and its label Star Trak - Interscope.“You’re going to watch history unfold with these guys. I feel it in my gut.” N.E.R.D's leader said.

Cee Lo Green is their guru, they're crazy about MGMT and jam with Janelle Monae. God I'm jealous.

To be honest, CHESTER FRENCH are unclassifiable. They're just TrUe OuTsIdErS !

Enjoy.....

TODAY'S BAND: TV ON THE RADIO

What could possibly cross your mind when looking at TV on the radio? Let's try to be honest with each other. These guys must be doing jazz, reggae something like that ... well, yeah, one's got an afro, the other one looks a little bit like a rastafari and the other guys look like they could follow.

I'll always remember the first time I had heard about them. I was reading some music articles on the internet, I see their picture and below it the caption "they must be wizards." Obviously that got me even more intrigued.

I had to know what their deal was. After listening to their first album, I'm amazed. The band who comes from Brooklyn is different, is weird, is talented.

They do not right traditional songs and they aren't jazzmen. Their sound is an electric sort of indie rock with distorted guitars, deep beats added to poetic soft vocals. It could be messy but it is clear and researched.

They've been doing music for years but still manage to give something new to what we know.

While making their last album, their bassist died of lung cancer. One of the most difficult moment for the band. However, the album in question is lush and blissful. Emotions can make you write the best lyrics and the best songs, I guess.

The music magazine Rolling Stone said: " It might the most beautiful, psychedelic and ambitious album of the year." The New York Times agreed.

Their music is indeed ambitious, probably the best word to qualify the band.

They are everything you would not think they are and that's why TV ON THE RADIO are TrUe OuTsIdeRs.

TODAY'S BAND: SUNNY DAY SETS FIRE

The best thing when you're a musician or addicted to music is finding a new band or singer you love. Just hearing the beginning of a song and knowing you're going to enjoy listening to it a hundred times. That's what happened to me today with SUNNY DAY SETS FIRE.

I had heard, probably a year ago, one of their songs called "Wilderness", while I was listening to Urban Outfitters new playlist. The song was fresh, with a different kind of sound, a mixture of different instruments that sounded like a dream. The singer was telling me a story and I was buying it. I started putting the song on repeat and my flatmates were starting to get mad at me but I couldn't care less because when I love a song, I have to listen to it again and again to hear the tiny details no one even hears.

It's only today that I thought I should listen to their album and some of their songs I didn't know. This is how I realise they were psychedelic indie pop little monsters and that, my friends, I LOVE.

SUNNY DAY SETS FIRE is a quintet from London. Four boys and one girl all coming from different parts of the world such as Honk Kong, Italy, Canada and the UK.

The band was formed in 2001 but it was in 2008 that their American label issued a remix EP fearuring CSS and the Cool Kids which, let's say it, is a really good start.

After that, their own album was out. NME loved it and so did I.

Their music has been described as a "wild and volatile flood of gorgeous, exuberant pop". Still, only a few people know about them.

Their influence: The Wizard of Oz, The Beatles and The Velvet Underground.

The band split up in 2009 because the italian leader Mauro Remiddi wanted to go solo. Mistake......

Be a TrUe OuTsIdEr and see for yourself .

WhO ThE HeLL ArE yOu ?

Not like Uncle Sam who was trying to recruit American soldiers by pressuring them only with his massive finger and a hat with a white star in the middle,I will not pressure you into thinking a certain way and I will not try to recruit you with some sort of prop aganda using my hands.

Here, you will just be able to read about the thoughts I have on the back of my mind and trust me they can be weird. Don't freak out ! ( If you did freak out) TrUe OuTsIdErS will not tell you the story of my life, not that it would be that boring , but , I'd rather share my weird comments about the world surrounding us than what I had for breakfast.

Music, Art, Politics and Fashion will be the main topics. You're free to comment about anything posted whether you think I'm wrong or I'm right , I'm strange or completely crazy. It's always good to share thoughts between weirdos. I will be honest, fair and sometimes unfair.

I guess the real question you need to ask yourself before reading anything would be : Am I an OuTsIder?

Am I the kind of person who could listen to a song and laugh, cry or feel like this song is describing my life or situation ?

Do I feel like there is a lot to say about the world we're living in , that a lot of things are going the wrong way?

Do I stop in the street and think of stealing that girl's or guy's shoes that just walked pass me because they just look absolutely amazing?

Can I stare at a photo or a drawing for hours because it was taken or drawn centuries ago ?

If this is the case, then you might be an OuTsIder. But aren't we all ?

TrUe OuTsIdErS is definitely me, Amy.K
