NEW AGE BY THE ALBERTANS

The Albertans is a Canadian quintet, now based in Brooklyn that surely know how to use their sound and lyrics to attract us sad and massive indie music fans.Their tune "New Age" is like a return to basic indie rock. The one you used to think was your religion because it was all new and you were inconsciently but also weirdly excited by it. The one that didn't need a keyboard to sound amazing. Yes, this is what The Albertans are all about and you can hear it in New Age straight away. The track has all the tippings of a quirky indie pop song: easy guitar riffs, "oohs" and "aahs" you'll be able to sing and a male frontrunner that sings but sound like he speaks.

At the of the day The Albertans do sound like a lot of other indie bands, but you can tell they have something the others don't: huge potential. Their talent is evident.

OLD SCHOOL TAPE CASSETTES AND RETRO BEATS : NEON INDIAN !

I had forgotten how tape cassettes sounded like until Alan Palomo, lead singer of the Brooklyn band Neon Indian, reminded it to me. Retro sounds, a tape played so much in the deck it's dead, a bit of an old school production and electric beats, add to all of these a groovy, chilled and sweet voice and you get one of the band's best tune "Deadbeat Summer". I knew most of their other songs but not this one, shame on me. I just can't stop listening to it, wishing December was over so that I can go: "nananananana Deadbeat Summer" in the street without looking like a n**.

Also want to mention the band has been compared several times to MGMT, which I don't get. They are completly different. Fair enough they are both part of a general new wave of indie electric sounds going on in the US but come on people, do not put them in the same category!

Listen to the track below, you will adore it just because It's wonderfully amazing !!!

Also listen to their track "Polish Girl", even if you're not Polish because it's goooooooood !

SHUFFLE SURPRISE

"Walk without rythm and you won't attract the woman". Here is what the Fat boy that is also slim sings all along his song Weapon of Choice. It's old, it's vintage, it's from the 90's yeah but it's a classic and most of us think it's a funny, well done electro-rap tune! Fatboy Slim was definitely in advance with his time. It came on shuffle and once again couldn't resist. The song brought memories ...

Enjoy my friends xxx

TODAY'S PILL: I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU BY FOSTER THE PEOPLE!

Add the tune and the band to your "polished" indie-electro playlist because Foster the People are my, and hopefully your, new L.A pop crush. There's absolutely no reason for you not to adore them! It's catchy, interesting and quirky enough for the cool crowds and it'll make the surf pop lovers melt. Certainly going to stay my morning pill for few more weeks!

The electric dance ballad "I would do anything for you"

YOUNG BUFFALO, THE NEW AMERICAN INDIE YOUTH!

I just love it when the American youth decides to get into Indie and start a band. Because at the end of the day, Indie rock isn't an American thing. But when you want to be good at something, that is not your thing, you put a lot of effort in it. So much effort that you start being great at it. Well this is what happened with Young Buffalo.

Three guys from Oxford, Massachusetts who were gigging in one of the lad's garage before deciding to do something with their talent: create young Indie tunes for young Indie people and be good at it. A great idea that became a reality.

 Definitely a band to follow.

Here you go.. a  typical sweet Indie tune called Catapilah by Young Buffalo. You'll enjoy the "quirkiness" of the song that somehow still manage to be a blissfull track with an incomprehensive but interesting music video!

Enjoy xx
